Green Hands has been a midland indie group led by Jack Telford since 2016. After an adolescence of writing & performing in bands including Rewards & Revenge and Albany, Jack moved away and Green Hands was born across the DIY indie scenes of Oxford and Bristol.
The project went through various incarnations until it was a perfect blend of childhood friends and in-laws that clicked. The group is now expanded with full-time members Jake Greenway & Ciaran Scanlon (Fizzy Blood, Talkboy) as well as Leamington stalwart James Knight (The Swaps, Jakls)
Sonically, Green Hands' earnest blend of indie, rock and folk has its feet firmly in both sides of the Atlantic, influenced by a mesh of 70's AM radio hits, power-pop and soul as well as British guitar music from the past sixty years.
The band released their first EP, the bedroom lo-fi of 'Southern Shade’ in 2017 through Bristol's Breakfast Records and followed up with the self-produced compilation 'Random Things, Purple Rings' in 2018. Following a UK tour, Green Hands' released their first studio album, 'Nebo's Dream', produced by Dom Mitchison (Tara Clerkin Trio, Oliver Wilde, Lawi Anywar) in October 2020. Since then, Green Hands has steadily released a handful of well-received singles in addition to the intimate ‘Another Life or Two’ EP in July 2023.
Green Hands have been lucky enough to perform extensively across the UK and with a host brilliant artists including Willie J Healey, Palace, JW Francis and Penelope Isles. They have also performed at Cornwall’s Knee Deep Festival and the elusive Three Wheel Drive.
In recent months, Green Hands have become a founding member of the Stingo Collective to promote upcoming artists & musicians in Warwickshire & beyond. Their most recent release, the colourful 'Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime' was recorded at The Green Room in Leeds with Tim Malkin (Opheliah) and released in March 2024.
Green Hands are currently working on their sophomore album due for release in Summer 2025.
